Mon, 13 August 2007 Here is the plasma tunnel. It's a simple foreground over background composite with each element rendered separately out of Maya. The scale is a little off, but that's how it goes. Rather than try to perfect this shot, I am going to move on and come up with something better! Next up will be the second half of my final last semester, the 300 Field Scene. Then I will start some serious yet flexible R&D on the opening shot for my thesis, the creation of light.Revive Productions Velez Graphics Velez Arts Demo Reel by AJ Velez Google Base Payloadz Santa Cruz Community TV Revive Productions on iTunes Demo Reel by AJ Velez on iTunes Blip TV Comments[0] |
Wed, 11 July 2007 Well, I placed third in my catagory and won $1,000! Check out my website at www.isabody.info and purchase a 30 day program! You will be amazed at the results! Hi folks! Here is the home movie I made as part of a recent weight loss competition I was in. I'll get the results around August 1. Sat, 7 July 2007 Hi folks! Here is a shot that I came up with in the last week. I have been working on more of a film resolution look and I settled on 1440 x 600. The ipod compression knocked it down to 640 x 266. I also worked on compositing seperate layers but was having some issues with the geometry mattes so I just rendered it straight out of Maya. This is more research for the look of my thesis, so keep an eye out for my next shot, a plasma tunnel fly through!Revive Productions Velez Graphics Velez Arts Demo Reel by AJ Velez Google Base Payloadz Santa Cruz Community TV Revive Productions on iTunes Demo Reel by AJ Velez on iTunes Blip TV Comments[0] |
Sun, 24 June 2007 Hi, and welcome to demo reel! This is the final for my particles class this past Spring semester. For those of you who don't know what particles are, it is a 3d reproduction of physics and natural phenomenon such as smoke, fire, objects falling with gravity and colliding with each other. The assignment was to propel the car up a ramp, through a ring of fire and then smash through a wall of ice. One of my favorite part of this assignment was rendering out each element seperately for compositing, as you can see in the shot breakdown. I really enjoy this type of work, so look for more dynamic simulations down the line!Revive Productions Velez Graphics Velez Arts Demo Reel by AJ Velez Google Base Payloadz Santa Cruz Community TV Revive Productions on iTunes Demo Reel by AJ Velez on iTunes Blip TV Direct download: Wall_Of_Ice_062407.m4v Category: VFX, animation and motion graphics -- posted at: 1:54 PM Comments[0] |
Tue, 12 June 2007 Hi Folks! This shot is half of my final assignment for a compositing class at the Academy. I downloaded a trailer for the movie 300 and then shot some greenscreen footage of myself. The assignment was to key and motion track using high definition video. the original BG plate we 1920 x 800 and my foreground element we 1920 x 1080. I pulled multiple keys on the hair, arm, guitar, shirt and motion tracked garbage mattes to pull them in. It's a little goofy but I was going for a music video based on the soundtrack for a movie kinda look. Of course, color correction played a big part. I addedd a fake snow over the top and adjusted the final resolution. It's only 50 frames so don't blink!Revive Productions Velez Graphics Velez Arts Demo Reel by AJ Velez Google Base Payloadz Santa Cruz Community TV Revive Productions on iTunes Demo Reel by AJ Velez on iTunes Blip TV Comments[0] |
Fri, 18 May 2007 ![]() Hi folks, welcome to my demo reel! This shot is the final project for one of my classes at the Academy of Art for the Spring 2007 semester. It is a previsualization of shot 4 of my thesis called "3 Days". In this shot, we see the creation of land and plants. I also wrote and performed the guitar tracks which may sound familiar. They are based on some of my favorite Pink Floyd and CCR riffs. Keep an eye out for my finished thesis in June of 2008. It will feature a rockin' soundtrack performed by me featuring some familiar riffs and licks from Rimsky Korsakov's "The Flight of the Bumblebee", Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 4", Rossini's "William Tell Overture", the theme from "Jaws" as well as variations on the tunes heard here. The thesis is about the first 3 days of creation as told in the account of Genesis. The soundtrack will be used as a structure to build the visual effects around. It will be about 2-3 minutes long.
